Train your whole body effectively and shed the pounds. This is possible with our high-quality cross trainers and elliptical trainers!
Cross trainers and elliptical trainers are often used as synonyms. Although they are very similar in many respects, there is one crucial difference: the position of the flywheel.
The flywheel mass is located at the rear of the cross trainer, whereas it is located at the front of the elliptical trainer. This has effects on the stride length and the movement sequence during training.
With the classic cross trainer, the stride length is shorter and the movement is more circular. The movement can be compared to jogging.
With the latter, the stride length is longer and the movement pattern is elliptical, flatter and therefore even more natural. Elliptical trainers such as our Carbon Champ and Carbon Conqueror are therefore even easier on the joints. Training on the elliptical trainer is similar to Nordic walking or cross-country skiing.
In general, cross trainers and elliptical trainers are interesting for every fitness level. Especially if losing weight is one of your main training goals, these fitness machines are the right choice. They are also worth buying if you want to increase your endurance and fitness in general. Cross trainers provide an effective and joint-friendly full-body workout**.
Cross trainers are ideal for training your endurance and your whole body in an extremely effective yet joint-friendly way. Many muscle groups in the upper and lower body are worked moderately to intensively. These include the leg muscles in particular, but also the gluteal, calf, chest, shoulder and back muscles, for example. Training with the cross trainer is therefore extremely effective for losing weight. At the same time, it trains the cardiovascular system.
When buying a cross trainer, there are a few factors that you should take into account.
Compared to other home fitness equipment, the cross trainer takes up a lot of space. You should therefore check the dimensions in advance. You will find this information in the description of each product. If you don't have that much space available, but still don't want to do without a cross trainer, you should make sure that the cross trainer is foldable. This makes it easier to store.
There are three values to consider: your own height, the height of the pedals and the actual ceiling height in your home. If you add your height and the height of the pedals, there should still be enough space to the ceiling to allow you to train on the cross trainer.
The optimum stride length depends on your height. Taller people have a longer stride length per se than shorter people. On the other hand, it also plays a role whether you usually tend to take long or short strides. You should take both of these factors into account when purchasing a cross trainer in order to ensure an ergonomic workout. Note: The stride length is generally longer on an elliptical trainer than on a cross trainer.
The Q-factor measures the distance between the two pedals. If you look at how people walk naturally, their legs are usually close together. Therefore, the Q-factor should also be low to enable an optimal foot position and thus ergonomically sensible and joint-friendly training.
Note: The higher the weight of the flywheel mass system, the easier it is to overcome the reversal points of the movement and the smoother and more harmonious the movement becomes. At the same time, the intensity of the training increases.
The braking system is used to adjust the resistance and therefore the training intensity. All our cross trainers have a magnetic brake system. The advantages are that it is particularly low-maintenance and quiet. At the same time, it can be conveniently adjusted via the console.
