When is a tent waterproof?

According to the standard, a tent is considered waterproof from a water column of 1,500 mm. A distinction is made between the water column of the tent wall and the tent floor.

What helps against heat in a tent?

To keep your tent cool, you should make sure that your tent is in the shade during the midday sun. Good air circulation is essential when camping in summer - it's best to have windows or doors opposite each other. Our tents with darkened sleeping cabins also help to keep the tent cool. How do I store the tent correctly?

Clean the tent and waterproof it if necessary before storing it for the winter. Also make sure that the tent is completely dry. To protect the tent fabric, ideally store the pegs, nails and poles separately. Store the tent in a dry, cool place with good ventilation.

When/how often to waterproof the tent?

How often you waterproof your tent depends on how often you use it and where you pitch it. However, we recommend waterproofing your tent at least every three months or before storing it. What is the vestibule in a tent?

The vestibule is a kind of anteroom outside the main tent. This area is covered, but usually not completely enclosed. For example, you can store equipment here that you want to protect but don't want to store directly in the tent. Depending on the type of tent, the vestibule may be larger or smaller.

How do I avoid condensation in the tent?

To avoid condensation in the tent, check in advance whether the ground is dry - otherwise moisture can form in the tent. Good ventilation is also very important. It is best if ventilation openings are opposite each other so that the air can circulate optimally. Wet clothing also contributes to condensation forming - so it is best to dry it outside during the day. "

Can a tent go in the washing machine or tumble dryer?

Never put the tent in the washing machine or tumble dryer! Detergents, softeners and heat attack the coating of the tent fabric and encourage mould. Spinning also puts a lot of strain on the material, while zips can damage the delicate tent fabric. This results in tears or loose seams that make the tent leaky.

How big should the tent be?

In addition to the living space that is shared, you should also pay attention to the cabins. The number of sleeping cabins and their location play a role here. Sleeping cabins separated by the living area or cabins with a flexible partition wall provide more privacy. As luggage also needs to be stored, you should also take this into account when choosing a camping tent. This can either be stored in the living area, an additional sleeping cabin or in the vestibule.

Noticeable darkening

The outer tent is silver-coated in the area of the rear sleeping cabin. Although this does not produce the same level of blackout as the Skandika Sleeper technology, it still contributes to a noticeable darkening effect in the rear cabin and thus ensures a more restful sleep.

Direct access to cabins

For more flexibility, the two sleeping cabins can be accessed both from the central interior area and directly from the outside through a second door. The cabins have their own permanently sewn-in tent floor and mosquito netting on all doors and are therefore optimally protected.

Flexible with 3 entrances

A total of three entrances and a large window ensure the best lighting conditions and a pleasant indoor climate at all times thanks to sufficient ventilation options. All three doors can either be rolled up and secured or set up as a sun canopy using the steel poles included in the scope of delivery.

Multifunctional vestibule

The vestibule is ideal as a living area with space for camping furniture such as a table and chairs as well as luggage and supplies. Here you can get together for a harmonious meal or make plans for the next day. A large shelf for the entire front tent area is included.

Window with blackout

The lower half of the large side window is made of transparent film and the upper half of mosquito net, so that air exchange is guaranteed even when the doors are closed. Of course, the window can also be darkened if required.
