Table tennis is one of the most popular sports worldwide. And not without reason. Whether outdoors or indoors - playing table tennis is possible almost anywhere and regardless of time and weather.

The rebound game can also be learned quickly, which is why it is particularly easy to get started. Even without knowledge of technique, stance, and the correct way to hold the bat, a game can be played. Nevertheless, it makes sense to learn the right way to play, as well as the rules and techniques, in order to have more fun. This is true not only at the professional level, but also at a recreational level. In addition, table tennis is suitable for (almost) anyone - regardless of their fitness and age. It is also particularly nice that different age groups from children to seniors can enjoy a sport together. Table tennis is sociable, which provides shared experiences across the generations.

At the same time, table tennis is versatile and offers numerous game variations from singles and doubles to games with more than four people. Table tennis can even be played alone without an opponent - simply fold up one side of the table and hone your technique in playback mode.

Apart from the fun factor, playing on a TT table has a positive effect on mental and physical fitness, concentration, coordination and circulation. At the same time, playing provides a welcome distraction from your daily routine.

The main difference between table tennis tables is their use.

On the one hand, there are table tennis tables for outdoor use and, on the other hand, table tennis tables for use indoors. Although both types are not necessarily distinguishable at first glance and are usually the same size, there are differences in terms of material and coating. Outdoor table tennis tables must be weatherproof, while indoor table tennis tables are not exposed to weather conditions.

Folding table tennis tables offer the advantage that they can be stored in a space-saving way and can be moved more easily. This is especially important if there is only limited space available and the foldable ping pong table does not have a permanent location. Castors with parking brakes offer more flexibility, facilitate transport and at the same time ensure a secure position during play.

In addition to classic, full-size table tennis tables, mini table tennis tables are also available, which are particularly suitable for children, as a party treat or for camping and when travelling.

Outdoor table tennis tables are perfect for the home garden, patio, driveway, or garage. A weatherproof coating and the special material protect the outdoor table from rain, sunlight, and the effects of the weather, making it particularly robust for outdoor use. Weatherproof table tennis tables can of course also be used indoors and are therefore more flexible.

A cover protects the table when it is not in use. You should make sure that you choose protective cover specifically for outdoor use.

Indoor table tennis tables are ideal for closed, dry rooms such as your hobby room at home or at work. Since they are basically less exposed to environmental influences, indoor tables do not have weatherproof features and are therefore usually somewhat cheaper in comparison with the outdoor variant.

A cover protects the indoor table tennis table from household dust, scratches, and direct sunlight.

Mini table tennis tables are significantly smaller than classic TT tables. This applies to the height as well as the length and width.

They are primarily suitable for children, who can then gradually be introduced to the sport. However, the small models are also suitable for adults: For practising short, controlled rallies or as a party treat. Small table tennis tables can be used flexibly and are easy and safe to transport thanks to their folding mechanism. Whether as a colouring table, a dining table when camping, or for your next outing or visit with friends – folding mini table tennis tables are practical companions, and never allow boredom to set in.

The multi-game table is a special model that can be used for table tennis as well as for playing popular board games.

Essentially, a table tennis paddle consists of the wood of the bat and two coatings. One side of it is always black, the other red in most cases, although other colours are also permitted. The differences lie in the wood, the finish of the coating, the thickness of the rubber, the shape of the handle (concave, straight, anatomical, conical), and the weight. Depending on the level of play and the tactics - offensive, all-round, or defensive - there are different TT bats for beginners and professionals. Special mini table tennis bats are also available for children, which are smaller and lighter.

An all-round table tennis bat, for example, is characterised by a concave handle shape and medium foam thickness and is the right choice for beginners as well as hobby players with an advanced basic technique.

Note: The thicker the rubber, the more power the table tennis bat has. The type and quality of the wood also affect the performance, stability, and shock absorption.

Those planning to participate in competitions should pay attention to the ITTF rules. The ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) regulates which materials and coatings of TT bats are approved for professional use in competition.

Table tennis balls are available in white and in bright colours. The advantage of brightly coloured ping pong balls is that they provide greater contrast and are therefore more visible on a dark table tennis table. The weight is usually under 3 g.

The standard dimensions of a table tennis table are approx. 274 x 153 x 76 cm (LxWxH). This is the standard competition size, and it is often used for recreational purposes as well. However, there are also smaller dimensions and mini table tennis tables that are only suitable for recreational use, and which do not take up as much space.

There is a distinction between use during play and storage. In both cases you usually need at least the size of the tabletop itself, 274 x 153 x 76 cm (LxWxH). During play you should also allow for a certain amount of space around all sides of the table so that players can move freely. This space depends on the type of game and the number of players.

Folding table tennis tables require much less space for storage than standard tables. A cover is recommended to protect the table from dust and weather during storage – both indoors and outdoors.

Whether blue, green, pink, or grey - in the leisure sector, this is purely a matter of taste. In Germany, however, green, and blue table tennis tables have become the norm.

In the professional field, there are stricter requirements. According to competition regulations, the surface must be uniformly dark-coloured and matt. The advantage of dark tabletops is that light or brightly coloured balls are easily visible. At the same time, a matt playing surface prevents reflections that could interfere with the game.

Table tennis bats have a coloured side - usually red - and a black side. The different colours allow you to recognise which surface and therefore which technique your opponent is using. This makes it easier for you to adjust to your opponent's strokes.

An outdoor table tennis table can also be used indoors without any problems. However, if you plan to use the table exclusively indoors, an indoor table tennis table is the better choice, as it is usually cheaper to buy.

A table tennis table that is designed for indoor use should never be used outdoors. Indoor table tennis tables do not have a weatherproof coating and are therefore not recommended for use outside.

Our models weigh between 48-70 kg. Thanks to the folding function and transport wheels, the TT tables can still be moved easily and transported in a space-saving way. A folding table tennis table for children, on the other hand, weighs under 10 kg.
