A mummy sleeping bag is perfect for snuggling up in and keeps you cosy and warm from the tip of your nose to your toes. The Skandika Gjora sleeping bag is no exception and is ideal for outdoor adventures of all kinds. With its modern, two-colour design, the sleeping bag looks really smart and ensures a restful night's sleep not only in the tent, but also at home, e.g. for spontaneous overnight guests.
Typical of the mummy shape is the wide shoulder section and the leg section that narrows towards the bottom. This allows the sleeping bag to hug the body and optimally store body heat thanks to its close-fitting shape. The insulating collar in the shoulder area also prevents heat loss.
Equipped with a filling of 2 layers of 150 g/m² 3D hollow fibre, Gjora is a warm 3-4 season sleeping bag and is suitable for comfort temperatures down to 1° C. The soft head section with customised hood is equipped with a drawstring to reduce the opening at the head and thus the escape of heat.
The quick-drying ripstop surface of the outer material is easy-care and absolutely rustle-free. The soft-touch brushed inner lining is comfortable and breathable. This makes Gjora feel as cosy on the skin as a duvet at home, without any annoying noises.
The timeless, two-tone design is subtly emphasised by the Skandika branding and the sturdy zips with colour-coordinated Skandika pullers. Skandika Gjora not only means sleeping well, but also looking stylish!
The 2-way zip with sewn-in woven tape to protect against pinching can be opened both from the inside and outside without catching. A fabric bar along the entire length prevents warm body heat from escaping and a double Velcro fastening ensures that the zip cannot open on its own.
The sleeping bag can be machine washed at 30° C on a gentle programme, ensuring that it is thoroughly refreshed without the colours fading. Two loops at the foot of the sleeping bag make it easy to hang up after washing or airing, even with the help of a clothes hanger.
There is a small pocket with a Velcro fastener inside the sleeping bag. Here you can store handkerchiefs or keys safely and within easy reach. The compartment in the hood is ideal for more comfort - simply insert a pillow or jumper and your head will be really comfortable.
The pack sack ensures easy transport and dust-free storage of the sleeping bag. The compression straps with buckles and some with click fasteners make it very easy to compress to a small size. The clever bonnet guarantees that everything stays dry and clean, even at the opening of the pack sack.
The Skandika Gjora mummy sleeping bag is perfect for anyone who doesn't want to freeze at night. It is a durable, easy-care and extremely cosy companion for your next camping holiday, but also for a festival visit and for surprise guests at home.

Our sleeping bags are all filled with microfibre. This means you can easily wash them in the washing machine at 30° C on a gentle programme. To do this, close all zips and Velcro fasteners and open any drawstrings. Also turn the sleeping bag inside out.
This depends entirely on the frequency of use and whether you use a ticking for your sleeping bag, for example. Your sleeping bag should be cleaned after about two months of use without a ticking.
Avoid putting a microfibre sleeping bag in the tumble dryer. This could cause the warmth to fade. Drying in the fresh air is recommended. It should also be dried flat so that the filling material remains evenly distributed.
As a rule of thumb, the sleeping bag should be as wide as necessary and as narrow as possible. This is especially true for colder regions. If there is too much space, the free space would need more time to warm up. But you should also be able to move around comfortably. If the sleeping bag is too narrow, you would otherwise disrupt the flow of warmth by compressing the filling.
The blanket sleeping bag is angular, i.e. equally wide at the top and bottom. This gives you more freedom of movement, making this sleeping bag more suitable for warmer regions. As the name suggests, you can also use it as a blanket. The mummy sleeping bag is modelled on the shape of the human body and is therefore wider at the top than at the bottom. They offer very good insulation and are therefore suitable for colder destinations. They also often have a head section such as a hood, which keeps you nice and warm.
The comfort range indicates the temperature at which you can lie comfortably in your sleeping bag without freezing - measured against the "standard woman". Women tend to get cold more quickly than men. The limit range therefore indicates the temperature at which the "standard man" sleeps in his sleeping bag without freezing. The extreme range, on the other hand, defines the temperature at which it is just about bearable in a sleeping bag - measured against the standard woman. Note, however, that this is usually too cold and you could get hypothermia.
Both the sleeping bag and the sleeping mat fulfil important functions when camping. They are therefore both equally important for a comfortable night's sleep in the tent. Where the sleeping pad protects you from the cold ground - i.e. keeps the cold away from you - the sleeping bag ensures that your body heat is retained so that you stay nice and warm.
If you are not going to use your sleeping bag for a long time, it is best to store it in a dry place that is not too cold - such as in your wardrobe. You should also not store it permanently in a tight pack sack, but rather in an extra storage bag. Alternatively, you can simply use a pillowcase. Stuff the sleeping bag into the bag or pillowcase instead of rolling it. The material could lose insulation when rolled.
Make sure that you always buy two different sleeping bags when buying a sleeping bag that can be zipped together. One should have the zip on the left and the other on the right so that you can connect them together.
Yes, all our sleeping bags come with a stuff sack. Just make sure you pack it in a storage bag or pillowcase for long-term storage.
