The word tipii is derived from the Indian word for living or dwelling. This is why we have placed great emphasis on cosiness in our Skandika tipii. The materials and an innovative design play a decisive role here: the hard-wearing cotton canvas and a good ventilation system ensure a pleasant indoor climate even in warm climates. If you want it to be particularly airy, you can roll up the side wall - just like a real Indian tipi. The floor is fastened with a smooth-running zip, while mosquito nets at the entrance, windows and ventilation slits keep uninvited guests out. But because Indians also like to be cosy in bad weather, the Skandika tipii has a water column of 4,000 mm and is water and mould resistant. Of course, this only applies if you store your Tipii in a dry place. Even the best tent will not survive a winter in a wet pack sack unscathed. Our Skandika Tipii is sewn with a special thread. This does not absorb water and does not let anything through, even in heavy downpours. Only one thing distinguishes the Skandika Tipii from its historical ancestors: No fires allowed!
