Tipi-like dwellings have been built and inhabited by many peoples for centuries. The unusual room height impresses every visitor who enters the tent for the first time. In true aboriginal style, the tent consists of a large open space in which people sleep, eat and "live". The Skandika Lodur successfully combines the tipi style with some of the advantages of a traditional tent. The height and the large space with a central pole remain. It also has a rectangular shape and a large, wide entrance door for easy access to the inside of the tent.
The Skandika Lodur Technical Cotton is made from a blend of cotton and polyester and allows up to 4 people to spread out their sleeping bag and sleep comfortably. The large inner area of a full 10 m² and the special height of 260 cm create a spacious and airy feel.
The tipi-like tent is not only suitable for families and groups of friends who want to spend a holiday together, but also for the next music festival or as an overnight accommodation and party option for special occasions in the garden.
The Lodur also shows its best side when it comes to glamping, the luxurious way of camping. It doesn't always have to be 4 people! For camping for two, this unusual tent offers plenty of space for a real bed or sofa, various small pieces of furniture, plants and decorations of all kinds. And equipped with lamps and fairy lights, it glows beautifully at night.
With just one central pole and the support poles in the door area, the tent is quick and easy to set up and the entire floor area can be used. Technical Cotton is a special blend of cotton and polyester that perfectly combines the advantages of both types of fabric. Lighter than pure cotton and yet extremely tear-resistant and durable, polycotton dries quickly and is also breathable - a big plus point for a pleasant inner tent climate. With its water column of 4,000 mm, the firmly sewn-in groundsheet, the sturdy steel poles and the robust guy ropes with aluminium tensioners, the Skandika Lodur Technical Cotton is absolutely stable and can withstand even the worst weather conditions.
The large, wide entrance provides easy access to the inside of the tent and consists of a practical double door, which keeps the inside of the tent nice and dry with weatherproof tent material on the outside. Thanks to the inner door made of mesh fabric, insects are reliably kept out while fresh air and light are let in. If necessary, the sides of the floor in the door area can be folded down to avoid the usual tripping hazard. There are two panoramic windows made of transparent film next to the entrance, which allow plenty of light to enter the tent even when the door is closed. Four half-moon windows on the sides of the tent are made of mosquito net and also provide plenty of fresh air. All windows can be closed opaque from the inside if required. The openings in the roof peak are protected by mesh and external covers and also contribute to the ventilation concept that is so tried and tested in tipis.
Convenience and practicality are given top priority in this space miracle. Two organiser pockets keep important small items to hand at all times and help even the most chaotic of campers to keep things tidy. The accessory set with all the necessary pegs, particularly strong steel pegs and a practical rubber hammer is supplied in an additional, roll-up fabric bag. And when the holiday is over, the robust carry bag makes transporting and storing the large tent dust-free child's play.
Nowadays, the tipi has lost its original and traditional function as a permanent dwelling. Nevertheless, it still exerts an immense fascination. Like no other tent, the tipi conveys the tangible originality of dwelling and living in the great outdoors. And with this successful hybrid construction of tipi and tent, this is combined with even more comfort. An inner cabin is also available separately for the Lodur in order to increase privacy if required and to enable clearly separated use of the different areas. Only one thing distinguishes the Skandika Lodur Technical Cotton from its historical ancestors: making a fire in it is forbidden!
