With a fitness bike, you primarily train your leg muscles, such as your calf and thigh muscles, but also your gluteal muscles.

What are the advantages of an ergometer?

As well as building up your leg muscles, ergometer training strengthens your cardiovascular system and promotes blood circulation. It also improves your fitness and increases your lung capacity.

What is the difference between an exercise bike and an ergometer?

With an ergometer you can set the wattage very precisely electrically, with an exercise bike you set the resistance manually in stages using a dial.

Can I also enter a training programme manually?

Most of our ergometers also have a manual programme where you can adjust the settings individually.

Can I lose weight with the fitness bike?

To lose weight with the ergometer, you should set a low resistance and increase the cadence. However, other fitness equipment such as a cross trainer or rowing machine are more effective for this training goal. To lose weight effectively and sustainably, you should also make sure you eat a balanced and healthy diet.

What needs to be considered with the flywheel mass?

The greater the flywheel mass, the smoother and more comfortable the movement. As the flywheel mass increases, the intensity of the training also increases.

Is the saddle height adjustable?

Yes, all our ergometers have a height-adjustable saddle so that you can adjust it to suit you.

Which ergometers are compatible with Kinomap?

Can I place a carpet under the ergometer?

We recommend placing a floor protection mat under the ergometer. This ensures that the fitness equipment does not slip and has a sound-insulating effect. It also protects your floor from scratches.

What braking systems are available for ergometers?

In principle, the following braking systems are available for ergometers: air resistance, induction and magnetic. All Skandika ergometers have a magnetic braking system. The advantages of this are that it is very precise, low-maintenance and quiet.

A wind turbine as the centrepiece

The visual highlight of the exercise bike is also the centrepiece of the device: the large red 12-bladed "wind wheel". This is where the training resistance is generated without any external power source. The principle is simple and extremely efficient at the same time: the faster you pedal, push and pull, the higher the air resistance and the more effective the training.

Perfect for HIIT training sessions

Training sessions in both the aerobic and anaerobic range are possible to train endurance and strengthen muscles. However, the Skandika Cykling Air is particularly suitable for short, intensive HIIT units. High Intensity Interval Training alternates between phases of maximum intensity and phases of active recovery.

Seven programmes for more variety

The all-round talent enables beginners and top athletes alike to always have an ideally customised workout. The Airbike's computer has two interval programmes for 10/20 and 20/10 HIIT units and a third allows manual, user-defined input of the phase duration. Four goal-oriented programmes (time, distance, calories or pulse) control a more even workout.

Skandika x Kinomap

Train in the most beautiful places in the world with Kinomap. Through the Gold Partnership with Kinomap, Skandika customers receive a code to test the full version of the Kinomap app free of charge for 60 days. Live videos, coaching sessions and virtual training videos take every training session to a new level.

Training of specific body areas possible

The Cykling Air is perfect for a full-body workout that is easy on the joints. The feet can be placed on the footrests for a targeted upper body workout. When the pedals are not being pedalled, the "wind wheel" is moved solely by pushing and pulling the handles. Conversely, you can simply hold your arms on your lap while cycling so that only your legs are working.

Clear display of training data

The onboard computer shows all training-relevant data such as time, revolutions, speed, calories, pulse, watts and distance on the clear LCD display. The built-in receiver enables the heart rate to be transmitted using a Skandika chest strap (optionally available) or another commercially available 5.3 kHz chest strap.

Adjustable saddle for optimum position

Thanks to the comfortable saddle, which can be easily adjusted not only vertically but also horizontally, athletes weighing up to 135 kg and up to 200 cm tall can always train comfortably and safely on the Airbike, even at higher speeds - ideal if more than one person is training on the device at home.

Sophisticated and comfortable equipment

Adjustable pedal straps, profiled footrests, sweat-repellent soft-grip areas on the handles, a bottle holder, a smartphone/tablet holder, a Bluetooth interface and the easy-care belt drive ensure safety and comfort during training. Thanks to the integrated transport rollers and grab rail, the Airbike can be easily lifted and pushed to the desired location.

The Cykling Air combines an attractive appearance with a high degree of stability. The tubes of the frame are particularly robust without appearing bulky, and the total weight of over 39 kg also contributes to good stability.
