Everyone knows the classic mulled wine from the Christmas market and it's part of the pre-Christmas season. Did you know that you can easily make mulled wine at home? How about mulled wine from the Dutch oven? Spend a few cosy hours outside with friends and family - snuggled up in a warm blanket by the campfire with homemade mulled wine.
Preparation with briquettes
Heat approx. 8-10 briquettes and place them under the Dutch Oven.
Preparation
1
Wash the oranges hot and cut them into slices.
2
Place the orange slices in the Dutch oven with the remaining ingredients and heat everything up. Make sure that the mulled wine does not boil - otherwise the alcohol in the wine will boil away.
3
Stir the ingredients in the pot until the honey and sugar have melted and the mulled wine is hot. To allow the flavour of the spices to fully develop, remove the mulled wine from the briquettes and leave to infuse for a good hour.
4
Then reheat the mulled wine from the Dutch oven until it is nice and warm.
Alternatively, you can also prepare the mulled wine with white wine. Or add blueberries and cranberries to the pot. These give the mulled wine a particularly fruity flavour.
