Do you always like the crumble from the crumble cake best? Then we have the perfect Dutch oven recipe for you.
Preparation with briquettes
Depending on the size, you should place 7-8 briquettes under the Dutch Oven and around 14-16 on the lid when baking.
Preparation
1
Peel and core the apples and cut into small cubes. Now mix with lemon juice, vanilla sugar and cinnamon.
2
Mix the flour, brown sugar and salt, add the butter in cubes and knead.
3
Place the apples in the Dutch oven and pour the batter over the top in crumbles.
4
Close the DO and bake for about 45-50 minutes. Then serve warm.
Of course, you can also serve crumble with other fruit to suit your taste - strawberries, blueberries or rhubarb, for example. Or try something a little more exotic with mango and pineapple!
Or mix the fruit with hazelnuts, vanilla extract or almond slivers, for example. A few oat flakes are also good for the crumble - for that extra crunch.
