Pizza always works! And pizza in a Dutch oven is quick to prepare. While the dough is rising, prepare all the other ingredients and heat the Dutch oven in the oven.
With our Dutch Oven without feet, you can also prepare dishes very easily in the oven. The base of the Dutch Oven is smooth, so you don't have to worry about scratches. This means your pot can be used in bad weather and the camping feeling remains intact.
Preparation with briquettes
You can also prepare this recipe outside with briquettes. To do this, light around 22-24 briquettes and place 1/3 of the briquettes under the pot and 2/3 on the closed lid. For a Dutch oven without legs, it is best to use a grid on which you can place the pot or alternatively place the briquettes in a circle around the Dutch oven so that nothing burns. The pizza should be ready in 20 minutes.
Preparation
1
Firstly, crumble the yeast into the lukewarm water and mix it with a pinch of sugar and the salt. Leave the mixture to rise for about 10 minutes.
2
In the meantime, prepare the tomato sauce.
3
Weigh out the flour and add the yeast/water mixture and the oil. Now knead everything with the dough hook of your hand mixer for about 5 minutes. If you don't have a hand mixer at hand, knead the dough with your hands for at least 10 minutes. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour - if it is too dry, add a little water.
4
Cover the bowl with a tea towel and place it in a warm place for three quarters of an hour. This will allow the dough to rise nicely.
5
In the meantime, place the Dutch oven including the lid in the oven at 210°C (top/bottom heat) so that it warms up and the pizza bakes faster later. Half an hour is recommended.
6
Now prepare the pizza topping. Depending on what you choose, cut the ingredients into thin slices or cubes.
7
After three quarters of an hour has passed, shape the dough into a ball. Roll out the dough so that it corresponds to the size of the pot. Place the dough with baking paper in the Dutch oven. Just be careful, as the Dutch oven is now hot.
8
Now pour the tomato sauce onto the pizza dough and sprinkle with oregano. Top the pizza with your favourite ingredients.
9
Place the pizza including the lid in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Then remove the lid from the Dutch oven and leave the pizza in the oven for a further 5 minutes.
Incidentally, the pizza can also be easily prepared in the lid of the Dutch oven. Make sure that the pizza stays in the oven for a shorter time, otherwise the topping will burn!
