How do I connect my rowing machine to the app?

download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store. make sure that Bluetooth and the location settings are activated on your smartphone or tablet. For Android devices, "Wi-Fi scan" and "Bluetooth scanning" must also be activated in the location settings (Location settings > Improve accuracy > Set Wi-Fi scan and Bluetooth scanning). open the app on your smartphone or tablet tap on "Add new device". as soon as the app has found the rowing machine, select the device by tapping on it. The device name starts with FS-… or TC… the connection should now be established and you can start training. Note: To use the app, you do not need to search for and connect the rowing machine in the Bluetooth settings of your smartphone or tablet. The connection is only established via the app and not via the general settings of the smartphone or tablet.

Why can't I connect my rowing machine to the app?

make sure that you have installed the latest version of the app. Sometimes it also helps to delete the app from your smartphone or tablet and reinstall it. make sure that Bluetooth and the location setting are activated on your smartphone or tablet. For Android devices, "Wi-Fi scanning" and "Bluetooth scanning" must also be activated in the location settings (Location settings > Improve accuracy > Set Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning). ensure that the batteries in the rudder's Bluetooth receiver are working make sure that the rowing machine is not connected to other apps (e.g. Kinomap). If it is, disconnect the connection in the other apps. 5. restart the rowing machine's Bluetooth receiver by briefly removing the batteries and reinserting them. make sure that your smartphone or tablet has the latest software. iPhone and iPod Touch require iOs 12.0 or later. iPad requires iPadOS 12.0 or later. Android operating systems require 6.0 or higher. to see if the problem is with the app or possibly the rowing machine's Bluetooth receiver, go to the Bluetooth settings of your smartphone or tablet. Search for Bluetooth devices and see if your smartphone or tablet finds the rowing machine (name starts with FS- or TC) in the search results. If the rowing machine is displayed here in the search results, your Bluetooth receiver is working. Try the other steps listed here. If the rowing machine is not displayed, then either the batteries in your Bluetooth receiver are flat or the Bluetooth receiver is faulty. In this case, please contact our service team at [service@skandika.de](mailto: service@skandika.de). We will send you a new Bluetooth receiver as quickly as possible.

Which Skandika devices is the app compatible with?

The app is currently compatible with the Skandika Styrke, Nemo III, Nemo IV and Nemo V. However, we are working on connecting the app to other rowing machines, cross trainers and ergometers. Feel free to leave us your feedback in the app or send us an email to app@skandika.com telling us which device you would like to use the app with in the future.

Is the app available for Android & iOS?

Yes, the app is available for download from both the App Store and the Google Play Store. You can find more information on whether your smartphone or tablet model is compatible in the App Store or Google Play Store.

What training data does the app display?

The training display shows you the time (in minutes), the total number of strokes, the speed (in km/h) and the distance (in metres). You can also read off the strokes per minute and the time per 500 metres.

Can I save my training data in a history?

Unfortunately, this is not yet possible. However, this will be possible in the future.

Can I create a profile?

Unfortunately, you cannot currently create separate accounts in an app. This function is interesting if you use the app with two people, for example. However, we are working hard to be able to offer you this option soon.

Is the app really free?

Yes, the Skandika app is completely free of charge and can be used to its full extent. There are no hidden costs and no subscription is necessary.

How do I adjust the water resistance?

You can vary the resistance by the amount of water in the water tank. The more water in the tank, the higher the resistance.

How much water do I put in the tank?

Pay attention to the markings on the tank, which indicate the maximum and minimum fill level.

How often do I have to change the water in the water tank?

We recommend that you change the water at least every 6 months - depending on the intensity of your training - or if there are signs of discolouration, algae, etc. To avoid this, never expose the water tank to direct sunlight.

Do I have to drain the water when stowing the rowing machine?

You do not have to drain the water from the water tank after every rowing training session. However, if you pause your rowing training for several days in a row, we recommend that you remove the water from the tank.

Why should I choose a rowing machine with water resistance?

Water rowing machines produce a pleasant sound backdrop during training, giving you a realistic rowing feeling. When performing the movement, you can regulate the resistance by adjusting the water level in the tank.

Can 2 people with different training requirements train?

Yes, because the resistance can be varied by the filling quantity. To do this, either drain the water or add more water to create a higher resistance.

Can I place a carpet under the rowing machine?

We recommend placing a floor protection mat under the rowing machine. This ensures that the fitness equipment does not slip and has a sound-insulating effect. It also protects your floor from scratches.

Can I use distilled water?

It is sufficient to fill the water tank of your rowing machine with plain tap water. Changing the water regularly and using chlorine tablets will help to prevent the build-up of deposits. Only use distilled water if you do not want to use chlorine tablets. However, this can cause deposits to form more quickly in the tank, as distilled water is chlorine-free.

What do I have to consider with chlorine tablets?

We recommend using chlorine tablets preferably before using distilled water with a water rowing machine. However, under no circumstances should chlorine tablets and distilled water be used at the same time, as otherwise the tank may be damaged.

How effective is rowing training?

Rowing training helps to build muscle, increase general fitness and lose weight. It also strengthens the connective tissue and improves posture, which can prevent back pain, for example.

Which muscle groups do I train with a rowing machine?

Up to 85% of your muscles are trained during rowing training. This primarily includes the arm, shoulder, abdominal and core muscles in your upper body, as well as your gluteal, thigh and calf muscles in your lower body.

What do I need to consider when buying a rowing machine?

As the rowing machine requires more space during training, you should check the exact dimensions beforehand. You should also check the maximum user weight and the maximum body height - which is determined by the length of the running rail - in advance.

How do I store my rowing machine?

Thanks to the transport wheels, you can quickly move your rowing machine from A to B. The rowing machine can also be stowed away to save space thanks to the stand-up or folding function.

Which muscle groups are trained during cross-training?

Cross-training is an effective full-body workout. In the lower body, the buttocks, thighs and calves in particular benefit from training on the cross trainer. The training also has a positive effect on the chest and abdominal muscles, the lower back extensors, arm flexors (biceps) and arm extensors (triceps).

How is the cross trainer supplied with power?

All Skandika cross trainers - with the exception of the Vidar cross trainer - are powered via a power supply unit connected to the socket. So when choosing a location for your cross trainer, make sure that there is a power socket near your training area or use an extension cable.

Does the device also work without a power supply?

Theoretically, you can also use your cross trainer without electricity. However, without power you can neither adjust the resistance nor use the training computer with its versatile functions. If you want to train effectively, make sure that your cross trainer is connected to the power supply.

The Skandika Canyon 4 Protect is a spacious tunnel tent that impresses with a living space that can be used flexibly and is clearly divided into two zones. Divisible living area

The living area of the Canyon is divided into two zones by a clever partition wall. The semi-transparent wall divides the rear and front zones of the living area without making them look cramped.

Practical partition wall

The partition wall has a mesh door in the centre and large mesh windows on the left and right, which ensure good air exchange and plenty of light. The windows and door are fitted with opaque covers for privacy.

Plenty of space

The front living area is a spacious, covered vestibule with a shelf and large panoramic windows made of transparent film, which is securely closed at the front with a weatherproof, opaque outer door.

High level of protection

The tent floor is firmly sewn into the rear area and the side entrance door is fitted with mosquito netting to keep the interior well protected from draughts and insects out.

Stumble-free interior

In the door area of the partition wall, both the permanently sewn-in floor of the rear zone and the shelf of the front zone can be folded down to prevent the risk of tripping.

Pleasant atmosphere

A large panoramic window lets in plenty of light, even when the side door is closed. This can also be set up as a sun canopy to provide shade in the entrance area.

Cosy sleeping cabin

The sleeping cabin made of breathable fabric is conveniently attached with a click fastener and is equipped with a mosquito net, a removable partition and ventilation openings for a pleasant inner tent climate.

Wind and weatherproof

Made from weatherproof tent material with a 3,000 mm water column and equipped with strong fibreglass poles, the tent is optimally protected against wind and weather. The poles are also colour-coded for faster pitching.
