Last weekend (May 3-5) the RuWa Canoe youngsters from Essen were astonished when a World Champion and Olympic Champion stood in front of them. The kids and teens aged 7 – 16 years started their season on Lake Baldeney in Essen under the eyes of the kayak world champion Max Rendschmidt. In sometimes adverse weather conditions, the youngsters fought for the podium places on the 200 and 5,000-metre routes with the international co-competitors from all over Europe. After this exciting start, we are looking forward to a great racing season 2019 here in Essen.
