The ultimate festival packing list for your festival summer

The 2023 festival season is just around the corner. Can you hardly wait to see your favourite bands live and enjoy the festival summer to the full? But there are a few things you should think about before you go. With our list of festival essentials, you'll be well prepared!

• Festival ticket
• Cash & EC card
• Identity card or passport, depending on which festival you are going to
• Mobile phone, charger & power bank

After a long day at the festival, there's only one thing you want to do at some point: sleep! The right equipment is essential so that you are fit again the next day and can really enjoy the festival summer.

• Tent, pegs & guy ropes

• Torch or camping lantern
• Nice to have: A pavilion to provide shade in good weather and protect you from the rain in bad weather.

A little tip: Arrive as early as possible on the first day or the day before if possible. This way you avoid having to set up your tent in the dark in the evening after an exhausting day.

At many large festivals, such as Rock am Ring, you will find a mobile supermarket that offers you everything you may have forgotten or simply don't want to take with you to the campsite. In addition to basic cosmetics, you will also find food and drinks here. However, your festival packing list should not be without a few things for cooking.

• Grill & briquettes + lighter
• Can opener, bottle opener
• Camping cooker & a small pot for preparing food
• Crockery, cutlery & napkins, preferably made of reusable plastic or biodegradable disposable crockery & cutlery
• Cups

The weather often does what it wants: it can be really warm during the day and then a thunderstorm comes in the evening. Be prepared for all eventualities and plan the right clothing for any weather.

• Underwear & socks
• Jeans, shorts & dresses
• Tops, T-shirts & long-sleeved shirts
• Jumpers or cardigans for the evening hours
• Rain jacket & wellies
• Flip-flops & swimwear
• Sunglasses & headgear

Your toiletry bag should also be prepared for every eventuality. The most important things you should not forget are

• Sun cream & after-sun lotion
• Mosquito spray
• Toothbrush & toothpaste
• Deodorant
• Shampoo & shower gel
• Brush or comb
• Towels, compact microfibre towels are practical for travelling
• Toilet paper
• A small first-aid kit (e.g. filled with plasters, earplugs, headache tablets, Fenistil etc.)
• Other medication you may need
• Tampons, menstrual cup

With our festival packing list, you are ideally prepared for your next festival summer! It's best to pack your personal belongings in a rucksack - suitcases are rather impractical if you have to carry your equipment further and you're travelling across meadows.
